In order to configure a workflow, there is a number of master data which are used and therefore shall be configured first. Usually, this configuration is done once but it may require updates before configuring a new workflow.

General/WorkFlow/Causal Types When transitioning from a workflow status to another it is possible to configure the system so that it requires or simply enables to specify the reason for the transition itself. This reason is known as workflow causal and it can be categorized using workflow causal types (e.g. all the possible workflow reasons to move from a source status to a closed status).
