Semaphores

Da itm wiki.

Semaphores are used for projects and services. They are a set of metrics each used to monitor a particular aspect of the status of a project (project semaphore) or service (service semaphore). Threshold values shall be defined for each semaphore and are used in reports and messages.

Sempahore Monitored aspect Thresholds
Alert threshold for number of issues with HIGH criticality This metric monitors the project issues or service issues categorized as critical. Number of project issues or service issues categorized with Criticality Level equal to "High". The alert is raised if the threshold is achieved or passed.
Alert threshold for number of non-resolved issues This metric monitors the project issues or service issues still opened. Number of project issues with Close Flag set to "False". This value shall be greater than the alert level for Warning threshold for number of non-resolved  issues. The alert is raised if the threshold is achieved or passed.
Warning threshold for number of non-resolved  issues This metric monitors the project issues still opened. Number of project issues with Close Flag set to "False". This value shall be minor than the alert level for Alert threshold for number of non-resolved issues. The alert is raised if the threshold is achieved or passed and the Alert threshold for number of non-resolved issues is not passed.
Percentage alert threshold for cost This metric monitors the total costs of a project or service which is managed in estimations. Depending on context or choice, the calculation may be based on the current estimation (the one in project or service Estimation tab) or the estimation related to the last executed milestone or review. Percentage (a number in the range 0-100) of cost deviation from budgeted value (in estimation). This value shall be greater than the Percentage warning threshold for cost. The alert is raised if the threshold is achieved or passed.
Percentage warning threshold for cost This metric monitors the total costs of a project or service which is managed in estimations. Percentage (a number in the range 0-100) of cost deviation from budgeted value (in estimation). This value shall be minor than the Percentage alert threshold for cost. The alert is raised if the threshold is achieved or passed and the Percentage alert threshold for cost is not passed.
Percentage alert threshold for delay This metric monitors the total delay of the project or service. The calculation is based on the initially expected and currently forecast end dates (see tab General of projects and services) The threshold is a percentage referring to delay in days (Current expected end date minus Initial expected end date) divided initial expected duration (Initial expected end date minus Initial expected start date) as defined in General tab. This value shall be greater than the Percentage warning threshold for delay. The alert is raised if the threshold is achieved or passed.

The calculation is based on the initially expected and currently forecast end dates (see tab General of projects and services). This value shall be minor than the Percentage alert threshold for delay. The alert is raised if the threshold is achieved or passed and the Percentage alert threshold for delay is not passed.
Alert threshold for time interval between milestones (in days) This metric monitors how the project milestones or service reviews re scheduled, in particular the number of days between two consecutive project milestones or service reviews. The threshold is referring the number of days between two consecutive project milestones or service reviews. The number of days is calculated as the Scheduled Execution Date of the successor minus the Scheduled Execution Date of the predecessor. This value shall be greater than the Warning threshold for time interval between milestones (in days). The alert is raised if the threshold is achieved or passed.

This value shall be minor than the Alert threshold for time interval between milestones (in days). The alert is raised if the threshold is achieved or passed.
Last milestone execution alert delay (in days) This metric monitors how much time is passed from the scheduled execution date of the last scheduled project milestone or service review before the current date. In other words, the delay of the execution of the last project milestone or service review to be executed. Project, service, resource, user.
